4. INA Section 203(e) provides that family-sponsored and employment-based preference visas be issued to eligible immigrants in the order in which a petition in behalf of each has been filed. Section 203(d) provides that spouses and children of preference immigrants are entitled to the same status, and the same order of consideration, if accompanying or following to join the principal. The visa prorating provisions of Section 202(e) apply to allocations for a foreign state or dependent area when visa demand exceeds the per-country limit. These provisions apply at present to the following oversubscribed chargeability areas: CHINA-mainland born, INDIA, MEXICO, and PHILIPPINES.
From the text highlighted above can we infer that EB principal applicant's PD will be applied to EB dependent (irrespective of whether the visa number is taken from EB or FB) ?

I made phone calls to all (10 + 2) successfully left messages for 8 but the following 4 had issues,
Sen. Cornyn's and Sen. McConnell's office phone systems do not direct you to a voicemail system (I was calling after office hours so I couldnt speak to someone either), and,
I get a 'voicemail machine full' message from the Reid and Martinez offices.
Wonder if anyone else has faced the same problem.
Will try those 4 again tomorrow

I am not sure why USCIS is publishing the updates every week saying that there is progress in receipting dates.
There are so many of us just in the July 3rd to July 16th range.

I have created a Shared Spreadsheet with the list of people who have pledged in favor of this effort.

Do you really believe there are 700K "unique" cases pending.
I think elimination of Labor Substitution would take out atleast half of 700 K pending labors..
Making the total new cases definitely managable - "damn again I m thinking logically." :rolleyes:

We filed on July 20 to NSC. CSC acknowledged the receipt on September 19. On 9/21 we recd a notice from CSC stating that our cases are transferred to NSC. However EAD and AP applications are still being proceesed by CSC. Just recd an e-mail that EAD card production ordered.

yes that is true. I did not had any problem with mortgage. Atleast as of today, it is illegal to deny mortgage based on immigration status. If you have any idea of buying a house, it is better to do it before any law changes if at all there is one in the pipeline as you(madhuri) suspect.
It is all how you see your life. Just concentrate your energies on positive stuff you have. This will bring you more energy and most importantly, it will bring more for those who sorrounds you like your family. Peace in family is very important to pursue anything in life and especially career and that too as an immigrant in US without GC.
I bought my house more than 2 years ago and refinanced 2 times. There is no problem in getting a mortgage. Make sure you tell them that you are on H1 and you should have a very good credit rating.

I believe when you get a promotion a new H1B has to be filed and that is hurdle in many aspects. Or what if the company is small and there is nothing to aspire for... like me?

Filed two EAD renewals to TSC: one on 07/06/08, another on 07/14/08.
Both included only the documents required by the filing instruction, nothing besides.
The first one was accepted, ND 8 Jul, the second returned with a request for a copy of I-485.
Added and re-sent again- no receipt yet.
Got emails today: Card production ordered for both applications
